Last night I came home at 1:30am and got in bed by 2:30am. Marie told me that she was the RA on duty, but that's never a huge deal, so I wasn't concerned. At 2:45am she gets a call from the department of public safety (DPS) reporting a noise complaint that she has to go check out, so she turns on the lights and I wake up. She comes back by 3 and the lights are off. I'm drifting back to sleep when at 3:10am she receives another call from DPS about another noise complaint that she needs to address. So she goes, and I'm awake now because the phone ringer is SO loud. I finally drift back to sleep at about 3:30am, and then, at 4:00am i hear the ringer again. the conversation went as follows:

me: MARIE ANSWER YOUR PHONE.
marie: my phone isn't ringing
me: YES IT IS ANSWER IT.
marie: that's not my phone. OH MY GOD IT'S THE FIRE ALARM GET OUT OF BED NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

she was out of bed, with pants and her neon orange safety jacket on, all the RAs have to wear them, and pounding on our neighbors doors for them to get out of their room in under 2 minutes. I swear. all the while this PIERCING screeching is going on and on and on. So then I'm paraded outside, at 4:00am, in the cold. And by now I'm just pissed.
The fire department is right down the street from us, but it took them 30 minutes to get to our apartment, which is ridiculous. They finally let us back in the building at 5:00am. It took me another half hour to get back to sleep, then at 6:30, Marie got another RA call, only it was a wrong number, but it still woke me up. I fell back asleep again until 7:30, when someone called the RA phone speaking spanish, and marie had to try and speak spanish half asleep.

We had to wake up at 9am to get ready to go to the USC v. UCLA game, and when I woke up I was in a foul mood. Of course. So at about 9:40am we went with our 2 other friends to the ATM machines to get some cash. And then we went to ralphs. And as I was paying there I realized I'd left my Debit card in the ATM machine. SUCKS. So we went back to the bank and I had to wait almost 10 minutes while the dude looked around for my debit card. Thankfully someone had turned it in so I got it back. Then we drove to the Rose Bowl, fought traffic and found a parking spot.
We grabbed our stuff from the trunk and as we went to leave, we realized Marvin (the driver) had locked the keys in the trunk.
So we had to sit there for an hour and a half while our AAA contact, Romeo, sent Poppy over to give us a spare key.

Finally we got to the stadium, and it was fun, UCLA got creamed. But overall, just a shitty night followed by a frustrating morning. :sigh:
